Police say two men, one of them armed with a silver or chrome pistol, committed a robbery in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood. The robbery occurred near the intersection of West Madison Street and North Lotus Avenue, around 8:30 p.m.
The thieves stole $400.00. It is not clear if the money was taken from a citizen, or a nearby business.
According to Google Earth, the only businesses in the area are Prestige Food & Liquors at 5439 West Madison Street and AutoZone, 5440 West Madison.
Both suspects are African-American. One man was described as in his thirties with a medium complexion. He is approximately 5’8 and was last seen wearing glasses and a blue and white coat. The second offender was wearing a black coat.
The suspects fled the scene in a gray, Buick Century.
