Phoenix cop, Richard Chrisman charged with murder, also planted crack pipe. |
How many despicable acts does it take, before a bad cop gets kicked off the force?
If you have ever questioned stories about police officers planting evidence, this story will change your mind.
Phoenix police officer, Richard Chrisman, was recently charged with second-degree murder, after he shot 29-year-old Danny Rodriguez to death on October 5, 2010.
Officer Chrisman had been called to Rodriguez’s home to settle a domestic dispute. When Chrisman arrived, he shot Danny Rodriguez’s dog and then shot and killed Rodriguez; who was unarmed.
The fellow officer who witnessed the incident, said Chrisman’s actions were unjustified.
In 2005, video surveillance captured Chrisman and a female officer (Who probably needs to be arrested, too!), planting a crack pipe on an African-American, female suspect.
Here’s how it went down.
While the woman was being detained, officer Chrisman and his female accomplice, opened the trunk of a squad car. Both officers retrieved a pair of rubber gloves and put them on. Chrisman riffled through what looked like a bag, and pulled out, what we later discovered, was a crack pipe. The officers closed the trunk and approached the female suspect.
As the female officer is groping the woman, the male officers seem to get their freak on, by gawking at the pat-down. Then, at the 1 minute and 21 second mark in the video, Chrisman hands the crack pipe to the female officer - who plants the evidence on the detainee. The female officer shows the crack pipe to the woman.
Chrisman claims he planted drug paraphernalia on the suspect, to get a reaction out of her. You know. Some sort of sick, cop joke. As a result of his actions, he was placed on the Brady List; a list of cops with questionable integrity.
So, back to my original question. How many despicable acts does it take, before a bad cop is kicked off the force? Does he, or she, have to murder someone before they are taken off the streets?
