At approximately 8:36 p.m., a robbery was reported on the 5000 block of North Western Avenue, between Winnemac and Argyle.
According investigators, five females and five males on bikes, all believed to be around 15-years-old, robbed and battered a victim at the North Western Avenue location.
One female suspect, who was described as an African American girl wearing a black hoodie and white shorts, was said to be the aggressor, according to police.
The black female hit the victim, grabbed the victim’s cell phone, and broke it, said a responding officer.
The remaining suspects were described as Hispanic.
The baby thugs are still on the loose.
Okay people now if this can happen in Lincoln Square things are getting out of hand. Lincoln Square is an expensive area where stuff like this doesn't happen. Jesus Christ do we basically have to abandoned the whole city. Mr. Mayor get your act together and take care of this city!

ReplyDeleteNot true at all. Random juvenile crime as been happening in Lincoln Square for as long as there has been Lincoln Square...well at least for the last ten years I've lived here. There was no Facebook or all these blogs back then so you didn't know about it.
That area has been gang territory for years.
ReplyDeleteI was in Winnemac Park Monday night around 8, there was a large group of teens - mainly girls - hiding behind the bushes and trees. Well I can't really say "hiding" because they were extremely loud. I just found it odd that they chose that area to stand behind, like they were clearly trying to hide their identity. Needless to say I got out of there once it got dark. But I'd bet money it's those kids who did this. They all go to Amundsen High.

ReplyDeleteUm, this stuff can happen anywhere. In 2003 a friend of mine was randomly shot in the head and killed by thugs in Lincoln Square. $600,000 houses don't make you safe.
That area is gonna get much worse this summer. Section 8 parasites have been moving in all over there.

On a couple occasions we have witnessed a woman giving a man a blowjob in the parking lot of Amundsen HS, in the evening (around 9 or so) while Children are around and people are walking around the park and lot. Sometimes there is a police officer there, but they don't seem to be paying attention. (Once I saw this close up, and there was no officer on duty there.) Same vehicle - a silver jeep liberty IL# N576434. The male could be black or hispanic with longer hair (dreadlocks maybe). The woman (prostitute?) is white or hispanic and about 5'5". I may have seen get into a black sedan. We saw it, and others did too. I told an officer about it, and he said he would "keep an eye out." I don't think it matters where you live in Chicago. People do whatever, wherever. It's a shame.
