Several minutes past midnight, Chicago police officers were investigating a robbery at a north side CTA train station.

The armed robbery occurred around 12:13 a.m. at the Jarvis CTA “L” stop at 1523 West Jarvis Avenue in Rogers Park.

Two African-American men wearing black face masks with "pointed noses", robbed the victim at gunpoint.

The victim, who lives in Rogers Park, called police from his home.

UPDATE:  The thieves stole $1,700.00 from the victim. Both suspects are believed to be 17 to 18-years-old.

Initially, authorities said the robbery occurred at the Jarvis "L" station, but the official address of occurrence on the police report puts the crime scene at 7800 North Sheridan Road - along the lakefront.

  1. Thanks again for reporting the "real" stories Timothy (and for including the "4 w's" that I learned in journalism class back in 1979 but other Chicago news sources now consider them to be "un-PC").

  4. ...and at that time of night? I am not excusing what these criminals did to this man, but that's a lot of money.

Maybe the victim had just cashed his paycheck.
