According to ABC Chicago, the FBI has joined the search for 46-year-old Francisco Favela.

Favela, and a second man who managed to escaped, were beaten and held hostage on December 11, 2010, at a house at 2237 South Keeler Avenue in North Lawndale.

The kidnappers, who were described as three African-American men and a lone African-American woman, pretended to be interested in renting the property to gain entry.

Favela was tied up, beaten, and placed inside a bathtub, said the ABC report. Then transported to a secondary location in Favela's stolen, red 1995 Chevy Blazer with license plate DIS570.

ABC Chicago said Favela's family offered to pay a $5,000.00 ransom. However, the kidnappers have asked for $500,000.00.

Today, officers found a car believed to be Favela's stolen Chevy Blazer. You can read more about the recovered vehicle by clicking HERE.
