CTA Green Line Passenger Robbed, Suspects Still on the Loose

A CTA Green Line passenger was robbed downtown.

The crime occurred around 11:38 p.m., as the train approached the Adams/Wabash station at 201 South Wabash Avenue; which also services the Pink, Purple, Orange, and Brown Lines.

Two African-American men implied they had a weapon and stole $30.00 from the victim, said police.

One thief was wearing a brown jacket and a black skull cap. The second offender was wearing a white vest. Both men are between 5’7” and 5’8”.

Authorities believe the suspects got off the train at Roosevelt.

  1. The trains are the best place to go hunting for these thugs. Very rarely are these types of crimes committed on the buses. The trains are not safe and the CTA knows it. What are they doing about this? Take our money for rides, raise the cost of riding, cut back bus schedules, buses running late ALL the time or stacked one right after the other, evil bus drivers and now, on the trains, we're sitting ducks. Just what is it the CTA gives us in exchange for our money? A ride but your life is in your own hands? They NEED to put security on their trains, cut down the amount of cars at night so more people are in a few cars rather than spread out throughout all the cars and put cameras on the trains. Hey, sounds like an easy fix to me. We are trapped on these trains and the animals who prowl at night now it. Kinda like hunters who wait in traps or blinds to get their prey.
