CTA Customers Trapped in Cumberland Park & Ride Garage

Chicago police received several 911 calls from angry CTA passengers stuck in a Park and Ride parking garage, adjacent to the Cumberland Blue Line “L’ platform.

The garage is located in the CTA Transit Building at 5800 North Cumberland Avenue, next to the Kennedy Expressway.

Reportedly, motorists have been trapped in the garage for 45 minutes, because the device that allows drivers to enter and exit the garage has malfunctioned.

Chicago News Report became aware of this situation at 6:34 p.m.

Police responded, but weren’t sure what they could do to resolve the issue.

According to CTA’s website, customers pay $4.00 for 12 hours and $6.00 for 12-14 hours to park in the garage.
