Off-duty Police Officer's Uptown Home Burglarized, Gun Stolen
Some time after 5 p.m., someone called to report that their home on the 4500 block of North Malden Street in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood, was burglarized. According to police dispatch, no additional information was provided by the 911 caller.
After an undetermined amount of time lapsed, a second call from the same address, reported the same scenario.
Around 5:47 p.m., a third call was made to 911. This time, the caller was identified as an off-duty Chicago police officer. The caller told dispatch a gun and a laptop were stolen.
With the recent rash of shootings, robberies, and murders in Uptown, the last thing that neighborhood needs is another thief with a gun.
Let's hope this off-duty police officer's gun is recovered quickly. But don't hold your breath.
