Police are investigating a shooting that occurred during a robbery at a Chicago, Austin neighborhood gas station.
The crime happened around 6:37 p.m. at the Marathon gas station at 5201 West Division Street, near the intersection of Division and North Laramie Avenue.
Police said the victim fought with the gunman and was shot in the leg. Somehow, the injured man managed to wrestle the gun away from the thief.
Authorities recovered the weapon at the scene.
The shooter is described as an African-American man, 20 to 25-years-old, and approximately 5’9”.
He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a long white t-shirt underneath - the t-shirt is much longer than the hooded sweatshirt. The offender was also wearing black stonewashed jeans and dark-colored gym shoes.
Police said the shooting victim appeared to be in "good condition".
