A woman, who may have been robbed by another customer at a northwest side Walgreens, became the latest victim of Chicago’s blatantly ignored crime wave.
The robbery occurred around 7:42 p.m. in the parking lot of the Walgreens at 4745 West Belmont Avenue, near the intersection of Belmont and Cicero, in the Belmont-Cragin neighborhood.
Before the robbery, the victim believes she may have seen the perpetrator in the store.
Police said when the complainant left Walgreens, the offender ran up behind her, stuck and object in her back (possibly a gun), and stole her purse. During the robbery, the suspect’s face was covered.
The offender’s height, weight, age, and race were never mentioned. However, we do know the suspect was dressed in all black and wearing a three-quarter length jacket.
The thief was last seen running eastbound through a nearby alley.
Police are reviewing Walgreens’ security cameras for clues.
