Community Alert - 23rd District - Wanted for Armed Robberies
ABOUT THIS CRIME:
The offenders approach the victims as they are walking on the street or entering their residences during the early morning hours.
The offenders proceed to spray the victims in the face with pepper spray/mace, knock them to the ground and forcibly remove personal property before fleeing the area.
The robberies have occurred within the following boundaries:
Belmont to the South, Addison to the North, Pine Grove to the East and Sheffield to
the West.
Offenders:
• Male, Black, 18-30 years of age, 5'05" to 6'03" tall, 150–200 pounds.
• Dark complexion, Black hair.
• Wearing t-shirts and blue jeans.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
• Try to walk with a companion or in a group if possible.
• Inform your friends and neighbors about these crimes.
• Inquire if your building has surveillance cameras and ensure that they are
working properly.

Editor's note: Early this morning, I contacted several mainstream media outlets regarding the pepper spray robberies in Lakeview. Finally, these crimes are getting the attention they deserve.

Blah, blah, blah. When I first moved to this "neighborhood" last year and a bloodied (head to toe)gay black punk with the jeans - down below his below his booty - ran up from behind me then over into Spin looking for help (they pushed him out the door), I was almost traumatized at the sight. Then there were at least 20 similar fighting and blocking traffic in the intersection of Halsted/Belmont. It broke up and started again. This was before midnight. I decided to call 911. They answered after TWELVE rings. I counted. Yeah, the cops really care. Or maybe they do but just can't care.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, still remember a bartender asking if I "helped" the bloody guy. Oh, sure out of the goodness of my heart. Sorry but I do judge people by their character. His clothing didn't have much of that. He was a ghetto gay punk.
Considered going out tonight but what with the price of a cab to go 3 blocks,couple drinks, tips, boring uncultured ignorant Chicago clientele, having to witness something like that again before midnight (I'm usually back by then), blah. I'll stay home.
Those establishments are going to have to do the pay-for-play thing with the cops or whatever they have to do in Chicago, or.....just cater to the Red Line & Suburban hags.
Thanks for the TRUE reporting, Timothy. From what I saw of the high as kite (uh, whatever you call them here.....transgender? causing a scene) on the Red Line toDAY that got off on Belmont.........it's gonna be a ruff ryders summer out there.

If it weren't for Timothy and this blog, NONE of us would have a clue about what's going on out there. Pity the poor people who don't read this blog and don't know. We at least have a heads up, they're at the mercy of their "rose colored glasses" because the mainstream media sure doesn't want us to know.

ReplyDeleteI remember as a young teen going to the arcade on Belmont, the only thing we had to worry about in Lakeview at night was the 6'5" ghetto transsexuals that was prowling in massive groups!
Timmy, I've said this before via email and postings. Your blog is singularly the best for crime and fire news from River North to Uptown, and some of that South Side stuff you throw in, too.
