3rd Lakeview woman maced, pepper sprayed, robbed
At 2:20 a.m., a citizen reported a person screaming for help near the intersection of Buckingham and Halsted Street in Lakeview.
The tipster wasn’t sure if the person calling for help was a man or a woman.
Police toured the area, but didn’t see anyone on the street.
At 2:24 a.m., a woman on the 600 block of West Buckingham Place, called police from her home.
The woman had been sprayed in the face with a chemical agent and robbed, said police.
Initially, the female victim refused medical treatment. A concerned officer requested an ambulance anyway.
The offender is a skinny black man, about 5’11”. He was last seen wearing jeans.
