Heart Patient Allegedly Beaten by Stroger Hospital Security
James Spidle, a 55-year-old heart patient, says he was brutally beaten by Stroger Hospital police officers. He also said the hospital's surveillance footage backs up his claim. But Stroger officials have refused to release the tape; which sounds a little suspicious to me.
If someone were accusing me of something I didn't do, and I had evidence to clear my name, the video would have been on Youtube - yesterday!
On August 9, 2010, James Spidle had an appointment with a cardiologist at Stroger Hospital, but when he finally received medical attention, it wasn’t his heart they were concerned with. After being (allegedly) assaulted by Chicago police officers, who were working as hospital security guards, Spidle was taken to the ER with bruises all over his body.
The 55-year-old cardiac patient claims security attacked him when he refused to show them his ID. He also said they kicked him in the chest and tried to choke him with a bag he was carrying.
A spokesperson for Stroger says not so fast:
"On Monday there was an altercation involving James Spidle and another visitor at the hospital. Stroger hospital police interceded in the altercation. The hospital is currently conducting an internal investigation of the entire incident."
In effect, they are blaming Spidle's injuries on another patient.

the security guards at that hospital are almost as ghetto as the patients. i believe this man 100%. they are hostile and unprofessional. i seen them harass and talk to patients like dogs.
