Gunfire exploded in the middle of the block between Sheridan and Windsor and Sheridan and Wilson, around 10:53 a.m.
The shooter was described a black man wearing a white t-shirt, baggy black pants, a baseball cap, and carrying a black plastic bag in his left hand.
After the shooting, witnesses saw the offender running northbound on Sheridan Road.
Moments later, police stopped a possible suspect on the 900 block of West Leland. Police also recovered a gun at that location.
Authorities said the victim, who was shot in the leg and grazed in the back by a bullet, positively identified the suspect stopped on Leland, as the shooter.
The suspect was read his Miranda rights at 11:07 a.m.

ReplyDeleteI used to live in Uptown. I can remember when shootings were unheard of in that area. Now, shootings on Sheridan Road are a common occurrence.
They need to bring back the old vagrancy laws that requires people to have a minimum of $10 to be on the street. They also need to stop the selling of cold beer in the neighborhood as it's just too tempting for the young men. These guys use very bad language also when they "wilding" on our streets. I'm frightend.
